Child Safety Standards

Read the Room's policy against child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

Zero Tolerance for CSAM

We prohibit any content that depicts, promotes, or attempts to distribute CSAM or exploit children in any way. This includes all user-submitted content.

Any violations are taken seriously and will result in permanent bans and reports to the appropriate authorities.

Moderation & Prevention

Read the Room uses the following measures to help prevent and address CSAM:

  • User reporting: Any user can report inappropriate content through the app
  • Content moderation: We monitor flagged content and review it manually
  • Access controls: Currently, all questions posted are tied to anonymous device identifiers, helping us prevent repeated abuse

We are actively working to improve our automated detection systems and moderation tooling as the platform grows.

Reporting Inappropriate Content

If you come across any material or behavior that may pose a child safety risk, please report it immediately:

  • In the app: Tap the “Report” or “Flag” icon next to the content
  • By email: [email protected] We take reports seriously and will investigate all submissions promptly.

Compliance With Laws

Read the Room complies with all relevant laws and regulations, including:

  • The U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
  • The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for EU users
  • Applicable local, national, and international laws regarding child protection

We will cooperate with law enforcement and recognized organizations such as NCMEC (National Center for Missing and Exploited Children) as required.
